Every Foreign Producer is legally obligated to request through their local Indonesian Embassy or Consulate permission to shoot film, video or still photography in Indonesia whether it be dramatic, non-theatrical, documentary, advertisement or promotional.
Usually it takes 4 to 6 weeks for the entire process acquiring both Journalist Visa and National Film Permit. Local provincial, national park/conservation areas or filming of local objects/attractions can require additional permissions. Bali Film Center can act as the required local sponsor working to expedite this (often laborious) process.
A Journalist Visa can be issued for 30 or 60 days. Bali Film Center can assist with the visa extension process at the local immigration office.
